Young emerging designers Athenkosi Mfungula (South Africa) and Amina Gaffoor (South Africa) construct one look each for this week’s challenge, Fashion on the Red Carpet, which is the Theme of The Week aimed at making them create an outfit worn by a celebrity who is attending a high profile social event. Fit for a goddess, Amina tantalises the panel with her attention to detail and delicately hand-painted garment touches of gold and glamour. Athenkosi gives menswear a whole new makeover with an over-the-top look that is debonair and dashing. Although Amina has a flair for glitzy, big deal fashion, Athenkosi causes the ladies to consider masculine attire with a different attitude. In this episode, it’s revealed how fashion-forward the competitors are. The week is made extra special as the panel is joined by Guest Judges, TV personality and South African sweetheart, Nomalanga Shozi and Zama Mathe, who is one of South Africa’s most successful fashion designer. Hosted by Nandi Madida, the judging panel is completed by Resident Judge, Vanessa Leisegang and in-house Mentors, Greg Wallis and Fezile Mdletshe.
