With her Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology, Tumiso Hlabyago (South Africa), goes up against all-rounder Sadie Bosworth Smith (South Africa) in The Wedding Challenge in this week’s episode of MADE IN AFRICA. Tumiso shines in the department of eveningwear and has previously worked as a Fashion Buyer Assistant. Sadie, however, loves designing garments and enjoys the process of making them from start to finish. Both young designers admit they don’t manage money well. Winning this season of MADE IN AFRICA, for Tumiso, would mean the chance of being able to create jobs in her community. For Sadie, it means wining a retail contract and the associated prizes, as it would enable her to get back into ready-to-wear clothing design again – as well as continuing the bridal aspect of her business. What these two Fashion Designers produce in this episode is breathtaking and show stopping. Seated among the judging panel is bridal wear designer extraordinaire, Francois Vedemme (Guest Judge) Host, Nandi Madida, Resident Judge, Vanessa Leisegang, and in-house Mentors Greg Wallis and Fezile Mdletshe, who will keep the rest of the show going. This week’s design showcase is a fresh, fantastic and original feast for the eyes.
