1. What is the “Cinemagic” service?

Cinemagic is a video content service where MTN users have the chance to view exciting video content, such as a wide array of short films and feature-length movies, through a web portal and a mobisite.

Cinemagic is an affordable and easy-to-use video-on-demand service, where users can stream TV shows and movies over the internet. It is also available across multiple devices.

2. Do I need to have a dish or a decoder to watch the videos?

No, you do not need to have a dish or a decoder to use the service and watch the videos.

3. How much does the subscription cost?

The cost of the service for the daily scheme is R5/day, the weekly scheme R15/week and the monthly scheme is R25/month.

4. How can I subscribe to the “Cinemagic” service?

Subscribers of MTN will be prompted to register by:

  • Sending the keyword “OK” for the daily scheme, “GO” for the weekly and “IN” for the monthly scheme to 47943.
  • Dialing *686*7161# for the daily scheme, *686*8917# for the weekly scheme, and *686*8918# for the monthly scheme.
  • Pressing the “Subscribe” button in the portal and following the instructions.

5. Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time.

6. How can I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription by sending an SMS with the word “STOP” to 47943 (at no cost). Upon sending the respective keyword to the short code you will be unsubscribed. After the successful unsubscription, you will receive an SMS confirming the cancellation of the service.

7. Will I have access to the portal after I have cancelled my subscription?

After cancellation, you will continue to have access to the portal until the end of the service. However, you can enjoy the content as long as your eligibility is valid. A user is considered as eligible for the content during the first 1 calendar day after his subscription to the service, without any charge required. After this period of time, a user is eligible for watching videos, upon every successfully charge. A user that hasn’t been charged for a day, can still browse the portal and watch the trailers.

8. I forgot my password for the portal. What should I do?

You can easily retrieve your credentials by sending an SMS with the word “PASSWORD” to 47943 (at no cost) and your credentials will be sent to you.

9. How can I watch videos?

Upon subscription to the service and upon every successful charge, you will receive an SMS with the link to the portal along with your credentials. Tap on the link and access the portal. Find the video you would like to watch and click on the “Watch” button.

10. What sort of prizes can I win by subscribing to the service?

All the points you collect upon subscription to the service and upon every successful charge are added in the race for the final prize which is R50 000 cash.
